Library: Grades K-2: Practice reading in your regular voice out loud. Reread the same story out loud. Did you notice yourself reading faster or slower the 2nd time?
Grades 3-6: Use your library book or your favorite book at home and complete a different ending. Share your ending with someone in your house.
Purpose Grades K-2: By students reading aloud provides a straightforward way to advance literacy development. Reading aloud is an essential skill.
Purpose Grades 3-6: Good endings make sense; evoke emotion like contentment, anger, sadness, or curiosity. It allows students to open their mind to new ideas. Plus, it allows a student to present a satisfying ending to a particular ending that leaves a reader hanging.
