Title I

Title I is the largest federal assistance program for schools.  The goal of Title I is to help every child get a high-quality education.

Please use the resources on this page to explore the Title I program and information available to you and your family. On this page, you will find links that will direct you to the District's LEA forms, Punxsutawney Area Elementary School's forms, assessments, and parent resources.

There are two types of Title I Programs: Schoolwide or Targeted buildings.  Schoolwide buildings are able to serve, provide support, and offer resources to all students and their families. In Targeted buildings, Title I services are provided only to qualifying students and their families.

It is our goal to promote parent partnerships within our school and student learning.  Please contact a Title I teacher if you would like to join the Parent Advisory Team.  The Parent Advisory Team meets several times a year to provide input into the Title I program, how parent involvement monies are spent, and develop and review Title I forms to be sent home. Also, the Punxsutawney Area School District has a District Parent Advisory Team.  If you would like to be a part of the district team, please call Mrs. Abigail Steffey, Title I Department Chair, at 938-5151 ext 2230.

Throughout the academic school year if you have any concerns about your child's academic progress, please contact your child's Title I teacher to set up a conference.
