Title I

Title I is the largest federal assistance program for schools.  The goal of Title I is to help every child get a high-quality education.

Please use the resources on this page to explore the Title I program and information available to you and your family. On this page, you will find links that will direct you to the District's LEA forms, Punxsutawney Area Elementary School's and Punxsutawney Area High School's forms, assessments, and parent resources.

There are two types of Title I Programs: Schoolwide or Targeted buildings.  Schoolwide buildings are able to serve, provide support, and offer resources to all students and their families. In Targeted buildings, Title I services are provided only to qualifying students and their families.  Both PAES and PAHS offer school-wide programs; therefore, every student in each building benefits from these services.

It is our goal to promote parent partnerships within our schools.  Each school has a Parent Advisory Team.  The Parent Advisory Team meets several times a year to provide input into the Title I program, how parent involvement funds are spent, and develop and review Title I forms to be sent home.  If you would like to be part of the Parent Advisory Team, please contact:
  • PAES: Ms. Nichols
  • PAHS: Mrs. Smelko

Throughout the academic school year, if you have any concerns about your child's academic progress, please contact your child's school counselor to set up a conference.
