PASD Flexible PD
The Punxsutawney Area School District is holding trainings outside of the contracted workday. The District and the Association have agreed to an incentive to encourage attendance at these training opportunities.
Teachers may earn seven hours of professional development outside of the work day between August 2026 and May 2027. Those who earn seven hours will be excused from the currently scheduled in-service day on June 7, 2027.

Professional development may be both in-person or virtual. There is a limit of 4 hours for virtual.
Below will be a Google Calendar of offerings. Additionally, there is a list of suggested trainings that can be utilized at an appropriate time.
Each month, there will be a department meeting, and a principal meeting as options to attend. These will be added to the calendar.
Teachers have the opportunity to propose their own preferred professional development activities. These could be webinars, book study / research study, curriculum work, PDE SAS modules, data work, special projects - ultimately activities that would typically be presented during an in-person in-service day.
Forms:
Digital Purple Sheet will be used to record attendance for in-person meetings and submit for Act 48. Central Office will process these forms.
Digital Pink Sheet will be a request and approval form for teacher-driven professional development requests. To complete this request form, click on the PINK SHEET button above. This will prompt you to make a copy of the form that will automatically save in your Google Drive (you may need to sign into your school Google Account to complete this process). Additional instructions can be found at the top of the form itself once you make your copy.
Digital Green Sheet will be used to indicate an independent professional development opportunity was completed. This will be used for all instances with the exception of the in-person scheduled events (ex: department meetings, principal meetings, other team meetings / workshops). To complete this reporting form, click on the GREEN SHEET button above. This will prompt you to make a copy of the form that will automatically save in your Google Drive (you may need to sign into your school Google Account to complete this process). Additional instructions can be found at the top of the form itself once you make your copy.
