SUBJECT: Reading Specialist

GRADE: K to 6th

  

Hello! I have been teaching for 11 years and I really enjoy it. I graduated from Clarion University of PA with a dual Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education.  I've added Middle Level Mathematics and Middle Level Language Arts certifications.  I began teaching at Punxsutawney Area Middle School during the 2008/2009 school year.  I taught 6th grade learning support classes then and co-taught 7th grade reading, 6th and 8th grade English.  I taught autistic support at Punxsutawney Area Middle School in 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 school year.  I received my Master's degree in literacy and my reading specialist certification from IUP in 2011. I taught 2nd grade for 7 years. This is my 2nd year in Title 1 as a reading specialist. :)
 

I have 3 wonderful children.  My oldest daughter, Karen, is 19 years old and is on her externship at Penn State after completing the culinary certification program at IUP. My son, Nicky, is 15, and attends West Shamokin High School and Lenape Tech for CADD/pre-engineering. He also runs cross-country this year.  Alana, my youngest daughter, is 12 years old, and she is in 7th grade at West Shamokin High School.
