Conduct Guidelines for Players [+ Team Handbook]

Expectations at practices and games

  • Bring everything you need to practices and games. This means having your cleats, proper clothing, water, etc. Dress appropriately for the weather. If it is going to be cold, you must bring cold weather gear. Regardless of weather, you are required to at least wear a shirt, pants/shorts, and proper footgear. Pack your bag with items you may need throughout the season.
  • As a member of this team your attitude and actions impact this team. It is important to practice mental strength as well as physical athleticism. Regardless of what went on at school or home, you can choose to set that aside and focus on having an enjoyable hour and a half with your teammates playing soccer. Negativity has no place at practice, so make every effort to have a positive impact on the team every day. If you are encouraging, energetic, and focused, the team atmosphere will be that much more enjoyable.
  • Make every effort to attend all practices and games.

*Third unexcused absence from a game                  Dismissal from team

Academic Policy

  • Your schoolwork should be completed and turned in on time. Not only does this foster your learning and allow you, your classmates and your teacher to move forward, it also ensures that you are eligible to practice and play with our team. If someone is declared ineligible by the athletic office, she will be unable to practice with the team and will miss all competitions for the entire duration of the ineligibility. (See Student Handbook for more details.) Once you are declared eligible, you will be expected to participate in at least one practice before you are able to start a game. If you are struggling with your academics please talk to me before we get to the point of you becoming ineligible. Together we can come up with a plan to help you balance your school work with your athletic responsibilities.

Discipline Policy

  • Discipline in and outside of school can result in ineligibility as well (see student handbook for more info). You are expected to treat all students and staff with courtesy and respect; arrive at school and classes on time; be a good person at school, amongst friends and classmates. As a member of this team, you are also a representative of this school. Any misconduct or illegal activity, even when committed off school property, may result in removal from practice, play or the team entirely.
