SUBJECT: READING SPECIALIST

Hello! My name is Mrs. Skiba and I am thrilled to be joining the PAES family this year! I am a triple certified teacher with certifications in elementary education, middle school mathematics, and as a reading specialist. I began my education at Slippery Rock University were I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2006. During my student teaching, I was so inspired by my 6th grade students that I decided to continue my education and pursue my Master's degree. I earned my Master's of Education as a Reading Specialist from Clarion University in 2009 with certification in Middle School Mathematics as well. 

I have taught everything from infant to adult learners. Some of my previous teaching experiences include substitute teaching for 10 years, working as an Early Intervention Coordination for birth to 3 years old, teaching paraprofessionals with CUP, teaching in a mental health setting for LearnWell Education, as well as teaching in a traditional 5th grade classroom position. 

Personally, I am married to an amazing man and have an adult daughter. I love to kayak, garden, and read in my spare time. I am also a foster cat mom! I adore cats and try to help as many as I can. If nothing else in this world, kindness is always free!
