School Reopening 2020-21

PASD continues to monitor and adapt to the latest state and federal COVID-19 directives. Our goal is still to provide three educational options to all of our families as this crisis continues:

1. Normal school model: students will attend school 5 days per week under the guidelines set forth in the COVID-19 Safety Plan (see https://www.punxsy.k12.pa.us/).

2. Flexible Planned Instruction: students will attend school three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). On the other two days, students will complete online lessons from their classroom teachers (Tuesday, Thursday). While students are in the buildings they will follow the COVID-19 Safety Plan (see https://www.punxsy.k12.pa.us/) Please note that students who choose this model will be responsible for all educational content that occurs on the two days that they are not in the classroom. Class content will be available / posted online on the appropriate school building platform (PAHS -- Canvas, PAES -- Google Classroom).

3. Full Time Online model: students will attend the district’s online school eAcademy (see http://eacademy.wiu.k12.pa.us/)

All options allow students to participate in all PASD extra-curricular activities. Also note that the plan is designed to be flexible based on the possible COVID-19 pandemic requirements that could occur as the school year progresses.

If you are going to select either the Flexible Planned Instructional option or the full-time online/eAcademy model, please contact your child’s building by FRIDAY, AUGUST 7.

The information below provides more details for both the Flexible Planned Instruction and full-time online/eAcademy options. There is also information below for our Special Education families and some of our COVID-19 procedures related to student desk shields.

The document below if available for download and printing.  It is a COVID-19 home screening tool.  Parents can use it to check for symptoms of COVID-19 if their student isn't feeling well.
