MASK UPDATE FOR BUSES OR VANS
Dear PASD Families,
Effective Friday February 25, 2022, the CDC exercised its enforcement discretion to not require that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. Please see the following link for the CDC announcement: Requirement for Face Masks on Public Transportation Conveyances and at Transportation Hubs | CDC
The Punxsutawney Area School District will follow the CDC recommendation and masks are no longer required on school transportation effective immediately.

Dear PASD Students / Parents / Guardians,
Masks are still required in schools. The Pennsylvania State Commonwealth Court ruled against the mask mandate on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, but the Governor’s Office filed an appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. By law, the Governor's appeal results in an automatic stay until a ruling on the appeal is received from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Thus, the statewide mask order remains in effect for all students, staff and visitors in all school buildings. Thank you for your patience, and we will provide updates when appropriate.
