PAHS, home of the Chucks, sits atop the town of Punxsutawney in north central Pennsylvania and houses grades 8-12.  We are proud to once again be on the forefront of education in the 2016-17 school year by continuing the 21st Century Learning Initiative in grades 8 through 12.

    Summer School Registration
    Summer school applications are now available from Miss Hand in the Guidance Office for those students interested in taking an online summer course. You must turn in the check for payment of the course, along with the application form to Miss Hand as soon as possible. If you are registering for more than one class, please provide a separate check for each course.  The registration deadline for summer school is May 31st.

  •  laptop Laptop Returns
    Underclassmen (Juniors) will be returning laptops on Friday – remember to bring your laptops, chargers and cases. You’ll be called to the library by homeroom – the library will be closed when laptops are being returned. You should have all your files backed up before you turn in your laptop. Student files will be cleared over the summer when laptops are refreshed with updates. For more information, please look at the announcement on Canvas.

    Senior Cook Forest Trip
    The senior trip to Cook Forest is on Friday. Remember to bring your Cook Forest canoeing permission slips with you – they are to be turned in to Cook Forest NOT the office. Please be aware that the white permission slip is for students 17 or under – they require a parent’s signature; the green permission slip is for students age 18 & older-you can sign for yourself. Seniors need to bring money for the activities they want to participate in.  Lunch and ice cream will be provided!  On Friday, all seniors should be in 1st period for attendance then on an announcement will report to CDMG before boarding the buses.

    Class Night
    Class Night is Thursday, May 25, at 7 PM in the auditorium. Seniors wear their graduation caps and gowns for this evening of recognition. There will be coat racks in the senior homerooms for you to hang your gowns – please make sure you have your name on your items. It is a tradition at PAHS that seniors dress up during the school day in honor of Class Night. Girls can wear white/light colored dresses and guys should wear dress slacks, shirt, and tie. Please report to your homerooms by 6:40 PM to line up for processing into the auditorium.

    We've added a new section to our homepage.  This section presents an analysis of the trends over time in risk factors as assessed by the biennial administration of the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) in Jefferson County school districts.  To view this information, click here.

    LLI Training (LV, WE, PV Teachers)
    Registration for LLI training is now open for Longview, West End, and Parkview teachers.  The training sessions will be held on June 8 and June 9 from 8:00AM to 3:00PM.  To register, please visit these events on the District's Online Calendar and sign up for BOTH DAYS.
