The Special Program in the Punxsutawney Area School District is supervised under the direction of Mrs. Karen A. Young, Director of Special Education & Mrs. Kate Shaffer, Supervisor of Special Education. Mr. Keith Hughes is the Gifted Coordinator for grades 8-12 at the Punxsutawney High School, Mrs. Cindy Taylor at the Middle School for grades 4-7, and Mrs. Julie Baun is the Gifted Coordinator for grades K-3 in the elementary schools as well as grades 4-7 at the Punxsutawney Middle School.  Mrs. Jonna Irvin is the transition coordinator at the high school.
