Hello.  My name is Mrs. Wisnesky but most students, parents, and other teachers call me Mrs. W.  This is my 18th year teaching Kindergarten in Punxsutawney.

I am excited to be able to share information through this new website.  You will find information about me, our class, important dates and events, and helpful ideas to use at home.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.  Happy reading!

All About Mrs. W.

I graduated from Clarion University in 1996 with degrees in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.  I enjoyed my student teaching in the Punxsutawney School District so I returned for a semester of substitute teaching before moving to Pittsburgh.  While in Pittsburgh, I worked at the Huntingdon Learning Center in the North Hills as a Teacher, Educational Testing Specialist and Assistant Director.  This center was designed to help students experiencing academic difficulties. Working at this center influenced my teaching profoundly.

After getting married in Pittsburgh in 2000, my husband Dane and I decided to move back to Punxsutawney to be near my family.  I spent another semester substitute teaching in the Punxsutawney School District in the spring of 2001 and then was hired for the 2001-2002 school year to teach Kindergarten.

My husband and I live in the Punxsy area with our two children, Nick and Emily, 2 rescue dogs, 4 rescue cats, and 2 hermit crabs.  I enjoy reading, hanging out with my family, watching my kids play sports, and teaching.  Every school year is a new adventure and I look forward to a fantastic year teaching and growing with the students entrusted to my care!
