Welcome to my teacher website!

GRADE: 1

Welcome! I am the life skills teacher at the Punxsutawney Middle School.  I think that parent-teacher communication throughout the course of the year is essential for the success of every student. With that being said, feel free to email me or call me before and after school with any questions or concerns.
Here is a little information about me. This is my fifth year of teaching in the Punxsutawney School District and my second year working in the Middle School. I previously traveled between Longview Elementary and Bell Township Elementary as the learning support teacher and I was the learning support teacher at Parkview Elementary. Before working here in Punxsy, I was a substitute teacher for the Brockway, DuBois, and Brookville school districts. While I was substituting, I held a long-term substitute position at Brockway Elementary in second grade. It was a really great experience and I feel that it has helped me to be a more effective teacher and prepared me for my position here in Punxsy.
In October 2016 I bought a house here in town, so in my spare time I am working on things around the house. I also adopted a dog in December 2016. His name is Lance and he is a rescue dog that was being neglected in Reynoldsville. I also like to fish and hunt and spend time with friends and family. I am almost done with my Master's program in Reading Specialist through Edinboro University. I am looking at finishing my degree in the Fall of 2017!!!! I am looking forward to implementing the strategies I learn during the course of my Master's program in my classroom.
I look forward to getting to know my students and their families, as we start a new school year!
