Mrs. Shaffer's Page

Welcome!  My name is Kate Shaffer and I am the Director of Special Education at Punxsutawney Area School District. There are many students who have special learning needs, and these needs are addressed through Special Education.  Special Education is in place in order to provide additional services, supports, programs, and specialized placements or environments to ensure that all students educational needs are provided for.  The Special Educational staff as well as all regular education staff are dedicated to improving the educational, social, and behavioral needs of children and youth with disabilities ages 5-21.   If you have any questions or concerns about your child academically or behaviorally, please feel free to contact my office.
