PAHS, home of the Chucks, sits atop the town of Punxsutawney in north central Pennsylvania and houses grades 8-12.  We are proud to once again be on the forefront of education in the 2016-17 school year by continuing the 21st Century Learning Initiative in grades 8 through 12.

    Graduation Announcement Orders

    Seniors have received order forms for ordering the official Punxsutawney High School graduation announcements selected by their class officers. The orders are due to the office by Friday, January 27th. It is NOT mandatory that students order anything. Some samples of items & covers of the announcements are on display in the office. Any questions, please see Patti in the high school office.

    Attention Jeff Tech Students
    In the event that Jeff Tech is operating on a delay, but the Punxsutawney Area School District is running on regular school time, Jeff Tech students are advised to consult the proper procedure for attending school that day.  You can review this procedure by clicking here and reading the notice from our Principal, Mr. Long.

    Safe Drinking Water Act

    Important Notice Regarding District Text Message Alerts!
    If you have not been receiving text message alerts announcing school closings or two-hour delays, please text YES to the number 67587.  (This is a new number used to opt-in.)  Please review the following information carefully as there may have been some recent confusion regarding the registration process.
    • In order to receive these text messages, you must fully complete the registration form online.  Click HERE to visit our School Messenger page.  On that page, you will find a link to the online registration form and other important information regarding our SchoolMessenger text alert system. 
    • After you complete the registration form, please allow approximately 48 hours for your registration to become active in the School Messenger system. 
    • If you have not been receiving the text alerts, we encourage you to register again by completing the online registration form.

    Spring Sports Meetings
    Meetings for spring sports signup will be held on Tuesday, January 24.  There will be two meetings: one at the High School for grades 8-12 during activity period (10:20 AM) in the cafeteria and another at the Middle School for grade 7 at 2:40 PM in the cafeteria.  Students, if you cannot attend your designated meeting, you can pick up the forms from the Athletic Office at the High School, the Middle School Office or on the school district's homepage under Athletics.  Practice begins on Monday, March 6.  All forms MUST be turned in by Monday, February 27.  Spring sports include Baseball (grades 9-12), Softball (grades 9-12), Boys Tennis (grades 9-12), and Track & Field (grades 7-12).

    Coats for Kids
    Our final Coats for Kids FREE sale is on Friday, January 20 from 3:30-6:00 pm at the Middle School cafeteria.  Parents of PASD students are welcome to stop by for free winter coats, snow pants, gloves/mittens, hats, scarves, winter boots and other winter attire for the entire family.  Hope to see you there!  Contact Dr. Shari Weber at 938-5119 with any questions.
